Nikki Pope Bio
Nikki Pope is a British born Singer/ Actress and Writer for the Stage and Screen.
She spent some time in Los Angeles at the age of 18 which gave her the American bug and so soon after this her path as an Actress and Musician sent her on the road to New York City back in 2010.
Now, after living and working in the big apple for over 5 years now, Nikki has graduated from the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts whose alumni boast the likes of Danny Devito, Kim Catrall, Robert Redford, Grace Kelly, Lauren Bacall, Jessica Chastain and many more, has appeared Off Broadway several times and on the big screen in a feature film that has won 11 awards thus far.
She has written, produced and starred in her own plays. Her first play ‘SWINDLED’ made it to the finals of one of New York’s biggest festivals and now has plans to run for a month in LA in June 2016. Her most recent success came alongside her second play ‘DEADLINE DATERS’ which also made headway at another big festival this past Summer. The play lead her to her nomination for ‘Best Actress’ in the whole festival.
With her video’s on YouTube soaring with hits, Nikki is securing her position as an artist within the industry and continues to do so with each and every project she takes on. She has now collaborated with some of the industries biggest names including Oscar Nominated Actor Danny Aiello and will produce her EP album this Winter with Austin Bello from the successful band ‘Forever the Sickest Kids’, just to name a few.
San Diego born, Chuck Rite is a Singer/ Songwriter and Musician. After attending Musicians institute in LA he began travelling and performing in cities all over the world including Sydney, Australia, Las Vegas, Seattle and Austin, TX and of course here in New York City where he currently resides.
The People The Poet self-released their critcally acclaimed debut concept album “The Narrator”, inspired by real life stories sent into the band by their fans in 2013. The Narrator was produced by Todd Campbell, Gil Norton (Sing & Molly Drove Me Away) and Pete Miles (Not For Now).
Successful tours with Straight Lines and Deaf Havana followed in 2014 which also included Summer festival appearances at Latitude Festvai (handpicked by BBC Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens), Hay Festival and Swn Festival. 2014 also saw the band get picked to become one of twelve artists to join the BBC Horizons 12 music scheme. The Narrator was nominated for the Welsh Music Prize and the year finished off with live sessions at BBC Maida Vale Studios.
In March 2015 the band were invited to perform at the world famous SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas. Whilst there BBC Radio 2 DJ Dermot O’ Leary was so impressed by their performance he invited them to do a live acoustic session for BBC Radio 2 at SXSW. This lead to another acoustic session for BBC Radio 2 when the band got back home but this time on the Jeremy Vine show at Hay Festival.
Early 2015 saw the band head to Monnow Valley Studios to start work on their next release.
