Geoff Gallante Jazz Quintet Performs August 30

Geoff Gallante Iridium NYC

ScoBar Entertainment is proud to present one of the most celebrated young musicians in the world today, Geoff Gallante, on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at 8pm at Iridium. He will be joined onstage by Jim DeSalvo (keys), Steve Varner (bass), Steve Johns (drums) & Mike Lee (sax).

Geoff Gallante found his older brother’s trumpet at age four & has since performed on prominent stages & alongside distinguished artists all across the country, as an acclaimed soloist with concert band, brass band & pops orchestra, as a featured jazz performer & as a national anthem performer & church soloist.

Geoff has performed in 34 states nationwide, including five different ensembles of the U.S. Military. By the age of six, he had already garnered guest soloist engagements with the likes of the Louisville Orchestra, the Duke Ellington Orchestra & the Philadelphia Brass Quintet. As an anthem performer, Geoff has appeared in 16 pro-sports venues across the country; 7 Major League Baseball stadiums, 8 NBA arenas & 1 NHL arena. He’s the youngest instrumentalist, at six years old, to ever perform at the White House or at the prestigious Kennedy Center in D.C. His network TV appearances include “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” NBC’S“Today Show” & the “CBS Early Show.”

In addition to solo engagements with professional pops orchestras in, Geoff has soloed with some of America’s very finest symphonic bands, most notably, the U.S. Naval Academy Concert Band. In 2012, Geoff was accorded the honor, at age 11, as guest soloist at the annual convention of the Association of Concert Bands in Poughkeepsie, NY. In July 2014, Geoff had the distinction of performing as guest soloist at the Texas Bandmasters Convention, the largest of its kind in the world!

In the jazz realm, Geoff is comfortable playing all styles, from traditional New Orleans style to small group straight-ahead jazz to classic big band & swing. As a “traditional” jazz player, he’s a member of the D.C. based award-winning Capitol Focus Jazz Band& as a big band trumpeter, in the Blues Alley Youth Jazz Orchestra. The former is geared to college age musicians, the latter to high-school musicians. Geoff’s marvelous talent obviously trumped the age requirements in both cases, each making an exception for Geoff & welcoming him in at just 9 yrs of age.

Geoff is now completing his sophomore year of high school in his hometown of Alexandria, VA.
