Eric Darius is a highly skilled American saxophonist, composer, and producer whose musical journey blends jazz, R&B, funk, and pop influences. Born on November 25, 1982, in Tampa, Florida, Darius began playing the saxophone at the age of 10, and by the time he was a teenager, he was already performing professionally. Drawing inspiration from legendary saxophonists like John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, and Grover Washington Jr., as well as contemporary artists like Kirk Whalum and Kenny G, Darius honed his craft and developed a unique, signature sound. His debut album, Moving Forward (2004), received critical acclaim and helped establish him as a rising star in the smooth jazz genre. This was followed by the release of Goin' All In (2009), which garnered even more attention and radio play, further cementing his reputation as one of the genre's brightest talents.


Throughout his career, Darius has built a reputation not only as a top-tier performer but also as an in-demand collaborator. He has toured internationally, performing with some of the biggest names in music, including Prince, Brian Culbertson, Chaka Khan, and Alicia Keys. His albums, such as On a Mission (2013) and Secret Agent (2017), showcase his versatility, blending smooth jazz with elements of funk, soul, and contemporary music.
